Derniera

Projekt Derniera is the title of a conceptual art project to be realized in the former arms factory Zbrojovka Brno. Ten European photographers were invited to work in the same space, realizing their own concept of the site
When I arrived at this enormous factory site I was amazed finding an open book of the past until the present.
Objects are witnesses of the past. I found a microfilm with factory files on it which seemed to me like a curtain of the past overlaying the present.
I was also impressed by the nature recapturing its territory. I found plants overgrowing erstwhile production halls. This brushwood seemed to me like a curtain of the present overlaying the past.
The showroom dummies placed in those empty production halls and office corridors reminds me two roles. On the one hand they represent the workers of this factory evoking scenes from the past when these halls were used for the production of guns. On the other hand they should remind us of soldiers using guns.
